Pregnancy Testing
If you have been sexually active and are concerned about being pregnant, turn to us first. EW participating centers have specially trained staff who really care about you. Services are always compassionate and confidential. You are not alone.

If you are experiencing one or more of the following symptoms pregnancy is a possiblity:

- missed period
- frequent urination
- nausea
- breast tenderness or enlargement
- dizziness
- change of appetite

EW participating centers provide lab-quality high-sensitivity urine pregnancy testing with instant results (these high-sensitivity tests may be accurate before a missed period). In normal pregnancy, HCG, the hormone present during pregnancy, doubles in quantity approximately every two days.

Generally, these pregnancy tests are up to 99% accurate (when taken according to manufacturer's instructions) and:

- are done in a clinical and private setting
- results will be known during your appointment
- can be taken before you miss your period

A positive pregnancy test (including those taken at home) suggests a high probability that you are pregnant. However, the result can be confirmed by an ultrasound exam.

EW participating facilities can provide an ultrasound for you at no charge and with no further obligation. The ultrasound may confirm the pregnancy; without a viable pregnancy, there may be no need for the cost and pain associated with an abortion procedure.
